Our Story

Built for the Unhurried

NZ Residences was conceived as a place where guests don't check in — they settle in.

Every Stay Should Feel Like a Return

NZ Residences was founded on a single conviction: the best hospitality doesn't announce itself. It simply appears — in the way the concierge remembers your coffee order, in the temperature of the pool at seven in the morning, in the fact that the sommelier already has a glass of that Central Otago pinot poured before you sit down.

We are not the largest resort in Auckland, and that is deliberate. Our 134 rooms and suites allow us to operate at a scale where personalisation is real, not scripted. Every member of staff can learn your name, your preferences, and the small details that turn a good stay into one you talk about for years.

The resort itself sits on the Waitematā waterfront, a five-minute walk from Britomart and the Viaduct. It was designed by a New Zealand-based architectural practice that drew on the city's maritime heritage — you'll see it in the warm timber joinery, the wide harbour-facing windows, and the way the lobby opens directly onto a sheltered terrace.

People Who Care About the Details

Our leadership team brings together decades of experience across luxury hospitality in Australasia, Europe, and North America. But what distinguishes NZ Residences is not credentials — it's culture. Every staff member, from housekeeping to the executive chef, is empowered to act on a guest's needs without escalation.

We invest heavily in training, but we hire for temperament: curiosity, warmth, and an instinct for reading what a guest needs before they ask. The result is service that feels natural rather than rehearsed.

Our kitchen brigade, spa therapists, events coordinators, and front-of-house team all operate as a single unit — because a truly great stay doesn't have seams between departments.

Auckland's Waterfront, Your Doorstep

Situated on Quay Street, NZ Residences is moments from Auckland's cultural and business hubs — the Britomart precinct, Wynyard Quarter, the Ferry Terminal to Waiheke and Rangitoto, and the Viaduct's restaurants and bars. Whether you're here for leisure or work, the city unfolds right outside.

For guests arriving by air, Auckland Airport is a 35-minute drive or a straightforward shuttle connection. Our concierge team can arrange private transfers so your stay begins the moment you land.
